O, N, C, E, were part of a series called Once Upon A Time. Sarah combines detailed paintings of native New Zealand birds, illuminated manuscript designs and cultural motifs to highlight the challenges New Zealand’s native flora and fauna face. This is often through habitat loss and environmental damage. Each work is highly detailed and are typical of her early transitional painting style.
