ART CONSULTANT - NSW Australia McCarthy Gallery Sydney, NSW | Contract / Subcontract Role Help connect collectors with exceptional art. McCarthy Gallery is seeking a professional and experienced Art Consultant to work with an established fine art gallery client, assisting collectors in selecting and placing artworks within their homes, offices, and private collections. This role suits someone who enjoys building relationships with collectors, understands the commercial gallery environment, and is confident presenting artworks in a consultative sales setting. Or with transferable sales skills and passion to learn and become successful. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES - Provide personalised art consultancy to private collectors and corporate clients - Meet clients in gallery, home, or office settings to understand their aesthetic preferences and collection goals - Recommend artworks suited to client tastes, budgets, and interior environments - Coordinate viewings, home consultations, and artwork presentations - Assist with artwork placement and visualisation in client spaces (digital or on-site where appropriate) - Liaise with artists, galleries, and inventory teams regarding artwork availability - Support the Logistic - delivery, installation, and hanging of artworks when required - Maintain professional relationships with collectors to encourage ongoing acquisitions - Represent the gallery and artists with professionalism, honesty and integrity!
