Kia ora, my name is Jade Beazley, I am a wife and mother of three boys, currently based in
Whanganui, New Zealand. I am an emerging artist specialising in portraiture and native
wild-life, I predominantly work with pencil, charcoal, and acrylic paint.
I earned my bachelor's degree from the University of Auckland's Elam School of Fine Arts in
2006. One of the most profound lessons I took from my time at Elam was the significance of
identity and whakapapa (genealogy). Understanding who you are and where you come from
is crucial, as it shapes the path you will follow in life.
My work draws deeply from my cultural heritage, personal connections with people—both
past and present—and the natural world. Through my art, whether on paper, canvas, or
captured on video, I aim to invite viewers into my creative world and share these rich
connections.
In addition to my artistic endeavours, I spent 11 years as a qualified primary teacher. I
remain passionate about teaching and aspire to continue inspiring and guiding the next
generation of artists.
