ACROSS BORDERS

McCarthy Gallery | Across Borders

In 2026, McCarthy Gallery will expand its curatorial vision with the launch of Across Borders — a dynamic offsite exhibition initiative that brings art beyond traditional spaces and into public environments, studios, cultural hubs, and regional landscapes. This evolving program encourages experimentation, collaboration, and dialogue — fostering innovation while deepening engagement between artists, audiences, and communities.

By moving beyond conventional gallery frameworks, Across Borders opens new pathways for creativity, sustainability, and accessibility. Each project will respond to its environment — from metropolitan settings to coastal and regional areas — celebrating diversity and promoting cultural exchange across borders.

“Art should move with the world, not stay confined to one place,” says McCarthy Gallery founder and director, Fono McCarthy. “Through Across Borders, we aim to create experiences that inspire, educate, and connect — amplifying artists’ voices and strengthening the creative ecosystem across Pacific, Contemporary, and Indigenous art.”
