Project 313 is a tribute to my mum as an appreciation for nurturing me and my 9 other siblings. Some of her attributes she taught each of us was to be charitable to others, to work hard, love and respect everyone and to keep the home clean and tidy.
A special day we can all honour and acknowledge our mothers.
I will make my 1st artwork and gift it to my mum on Mother’s Day Sunday 13 May 2018 which will start the numbering of artworks at no.1 leading up to no.313 to Mother’s Day 2019.
There is 365 days in the year. Take out all the Sundays your left with 313 days. I will create an artwork on quality art paper 560mm x 760mm.
Each day my Artwork will reflect what inspired me or something I may have learnt or experienced. The completed Artwork will be posted up on my website drrichardcooperfinearts.com and other social media links at midnight each day.
Unfortunately, I had to stop creating art works at the halfway mark. My health was deteriorating. I had put an extra 6 kilograms, my sugar levels increased, I was only averaging 3-4 hours sleep each night. Some days my mind was blank, and the pressure was on to try creating something. My blood pressure was high, my stress levels was high.
It was not an easy decision. I did not want to feel like I had failed. As I reflected over the 158 artworks and read some of the blogs, I felt alright knowing what I had accomplished so far. Artwork no.157 was the halfway mark. I stopped project 313.
For once I could have a good sleep, relax my mind, and get my life back. I went back to the gym, changed my eating habits and health was back on track.
Mother’s Day 2019 one year later to starting Project 313, I completed my last artwork dedicated to my sweetheart.
I started this project as a tribute to my mother on Mother’s Day 2018 and finished in gratitude to my wife Mother’s Day 2019.
