TYLER KINNEAR, PhD

Tyler Kinnear is an educator/researcher/artist based in Cambridge, MA, USA. He is an award-nominated college instructor specializing in soundscapes, histories and theories of listening, and music and nostalgia. His work has been published in such journals as Chigiana: Journal of Musicological Studies, Ecomusicology Review, and Intersections: Canadian Journal of Music. Tyler is co-curator of Resounding Change, an award-winning arts exhibition exploring sound in a time of environmental crisis. He currently serves on the advisory board of NASA's Eclipse Soundscapes project and is an active contributor to the local culture scene as a musician. Tyler brings varied disciplinary backgrounds and geographical views to our arena with Pacific and Indigenous contemporary art.
